About these terms
These terms apply to your use of this website, which is run by Whitby House Clearance, based in Whitby, North Yorkshire. By using the site, you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Using this website
You may use the site to find information and to contact us or ask for a quote. Please don't misuse it, for example by submitting false information, attempting to access areas you are not authorised to use, uploading harmful files or sending spam through our forms.
Information on this site
We aim to keep the information on this site accurate and up to date, but it is general guidance only. Prices shown on our prices page are guide figures, not quotes. Articles about probate, recycling or waste rules are not legal advice, so please check anything important with a solicitor or the relevant authority.
Quotes
- Quotes are free and there is no obligation to go ahead.
- Once we have seen photos or visited, we give you a fixed price, and the price we quote is the price you pay for the work described.
- A quote is based on the information and photos you give us. If the job turns out to be significantly different, for example extra rooms, a full loft or outbuildings that were not mentioned, we will tell you before doing any extra work and agree any change with you first.
- Nothing is added to your bill without your agreement.
Your responsibilities
When you book a clearance, you confirm that you have the right to authorise it, for example as the owner, executor, or a landlord acting lawfully. Please remove or clearly label anything you want to keep, and tell us about any hazards you know of, such as damaged floors or suspected asbestos.
Items we can't take
We can't take asbestos, gas bottles or cylinders, or other hazardous materials that need a specialist. If we find them, we will leave them in place, tell you and advise on who can help.

Our site includes links to other websites, including independent services on our links page. We don't control those sites and are not responsible for their content or services.
Our liability
We are not responsible for any loss arising from reliance on general information on this website. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
