Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this website. This statement explains what we have done, the known limitations and how to contact us if something doesn't work for you.
Our aim
Whitby House Clearance wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or voice control. We are aiming to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we have done
- Pages use clear headings in a logical order, so they are easy to navigate with assistive technology.
- The site can be used with a keyboard, with visible focus on links, buttons and form fields.
- Text and background colours are chosen for good contrast.
- Text can be enlarged up to 200% without content being lost, and the layout adapts to phones and tablets.
- Form fields have labels, and error messages explain what needs to be fixed.
- Meaningful images have text descriptions, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- We write in plain English and keep paragraphs short.
Known limitations
- Uploading photos through the quote form may be awkward with some assistive technology. You can email photos instead, or describe the job by phone.
- The map on our areas page may not be fully accessible, but every town and village it shows is also listed in text.
- Content from other websites, such as linked services or review platforms, is outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
We are working to fix problems as we find them.
Other ways to contact us
If you find the forms hard to use, you don't need to use them. Call 07795 010 224 or email info@whitbyhouseclearance.co.uk and we can take the details of your clearance and give you a quote that way. If you need information in a different format, just ask.
Reporting a problem
If something on this site is difficult to use, please tell us. Let us know the page address, what you were trying to do and what assistive technology or browser you use, if any. We will look into it and reply as soon as we can.
How we review the site
This statement is based on our own review of the website. We check it again whenever we make significant changes to the site, and we welcome feedback that helps us improve.
