Cookie policy
This page explains the small number of cookies used on the Whitby House Clearance website, why we use them and how you can control them.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. They let the site remember information between pages or visits. Some are essential for a site to work, and others help the owner understand how the site is used.
Essential cookies
We use a session cookie to make our quote and contact forms work securely, for example to protect them against spam and forged submissions. The same kind of cookie keeps authorised people logged in to the website's admin area. These cookies are strictly necessary, don't track you across other websites and are removed when you close your browser. Because the site cannot work properly without them, they don't need your consent.
Analytics cookies (optional)
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are read most and how people find us. This helps us improve the information we provide. Google Analytics sets its own cookies, usually with names beginning with _ga, which can last for up to two years.
We don't set analytics cookies unless you choose to accept them. If you decline, the site works in exactly the same way.
Changing your choice
You can change your mind at any time. Clearing the cookies for this website in your browser removes any analytics cookies and resets your choice, so you will be asked again on your next visit. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies in their settings. If you block all cookies, our forms may not work, so you may prefer to call or email us instead.
Other websites
Pages on this site may link to other websites, such as Google for reviews or independent services on our links page. Those sites have their own cookie and privacy policies, which we don't control.
More information
For general guidance about cookies and your choices, see the Information Commissioner's Office website at ico.org.uk. To find out how we handle personal data, read our privacy policy.
